It's fantastic to have you here!

As you can guess by the looks of
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NGO/ApplicationPackaging it's going to take a
bit longer to get it included in Ubuntu. The main problem we have in
Ubuntu is that we don't want to duplicate source, which means that the
bundled parts of civicrm (in ./packages/) need to go. That's nothing you
need to change on your end, but it requires some work on our side to get
all the dependencies packaged.

I'm sure we're going to get back to your offer of help a couple of
times. I'm really happy you're around.
