Tethering and Overclocking?

Obviously these are very far down the road. But wondering if anyone has these in mind? One of the best things about rooting an Android phone is you can Overclock for performance or underclock for battery life. So having user control over these to suit our needs is a huge advantage.

Also tethering is now coming standard with almost all the new plans so allowing built in Wifi tethering to.other devises ( heavily encrypted for privacy and security of course) would no longer be a legal concern for Canonical.

I think that as things progress, we need to look as all the things the rooting community has enjoyed over the years and consider either building them in by default, or making the addition of them by the user later extremely easy and non threat to "bricking ” the device. One geeky thing I really enjoyed was changing the first boot logo and boot animation. But I froze my device once with that so I shyed away from it since. But would be an awesome plugin to be available here.

What you guys think? We shouldn't forget the geeks that have make hacking and owning our devices a reality and fun. :-)
