Many Python users at Pycon have proven that this is just not true as a general
blanket statement (i.e. "a phone app"). It may be true for some combination
of operating system, graphical user interface toolkit, algorithms, protocols,
and programming style. For example, I had a number of people tell me that
gi/gtk was a large part of similar problems they were encountering.
