If you have a look at their page where they explain their technology [1],
they state at the bottom that they have a patent portfolio for their stuff.
Nevertheless, I think someone (perhaps best would be @canonical.com) should
send them an email and offer them free standard implementation. Would be
nice to have the choice by default :)
