Re: URL Dispatcher information

Hi Ted,

thanks for that!

It might be a little pedantic, but shouldn't we talk about URI instead of
URL?

Besides that a few questions:

- Is APP_ID going to be used in e.g. the proposed URI
application://$(APP_ID).desktop (why specify the ".desktop" btw?), by that
I mean w/ the version included?

- I guess that it will work in some sort of "fire and forget" fashion, not
really giving any guarantees or error mechanisms?

- Will one be able to pass down parameters to the app thru the URI? if yes,
I guess that will there be a mechanism ,

- How an app is supposed to be "wired" when it wants to basically respond
to those, will it start an new target app instance or will it hook up to
whatever mechanism in the applications' message dispatch loop?

- Will the URI list be static?

- I know that we briefly touch the subject last week in a meeting, but any
plans for a hook mechanisms for those URI dispatches? e.g. I want my app to
place a hook in the URLdispatcher to handle specific URL schemes or sub
schemes, etc. before it reaches the fallback app,

Thanks!
Alex
