It's at the bootstrapping phase; so if you know how to do that, go ahead
and start; in a nutshell

Grab our patchset from the phablet-trusty branch on phablet.ubuntu.com and
apply it to a 4.4 branch on AOSP; adapt/modify code for all the
changes/conflicts, build, test, ship, DONE.

janimo wrote something to easily move patchsets around branches, you can
search the email archives for it.

Not easy if you haven't done this before and don't know your way around the
Android codebase though.
