the switch to the new devices is tightly tied to the switch to an
android 4.4 base for our drivers and hardware abstraction layer. as soon
as this switch happens there will be official and supported image. sadly
there were a few delays, but we should be ready soon ... 

(one giant milestone of the preparation work was just finished tonight,
we should be ready to switch really soon now)
