Yes, that was my suggestion for the temporary solution until
automation. davmor2 now took over the manual testing, although I also
did test that with Qt 5.2.1 that among else unity8 and
ubuntu-ui-toolkit autopilot tests have now 100% pass rate! Which is
great since those two test Qt heavily.

Some other tests are failing, including any related to playing
video/audio. I'm waiting for multimedia team to come up with a
solution by eg porting qtmultimedia-opensource-src-touch to work with
5.2. The relevant bugs are at least
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtmultimedia-opensource-src-touch/+bug/1271192
and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtvideo-node/+bug/1267818

I heard earlier it was complicated by the more complex upgrade, but I
responded to the CI people a week ago that it's now just
'dist-upgrade' again since Multimedia team fixed the removing of
qtmultimedia '-touch' packages. The instructions are also at
https://launchpad.net/~canonical-qt5-edgers/+archive/qt5-beta2

So if I understood correctly, CI team could now automate the upgrade +
run tests method. They could also look at Oliver's rootstock-ng system
image building to do real image testing.
