We technically are UMTS (not LTE yet), names tend to stick; those use w-cdma.
The counterpart to GSM is IS-95 (cdmaOne) followed by CDMA2000 which
is what most people generally call CDMA.
The bad part about calling it cdma is that it's a "technology" and
many standards can implement or use it.
