while this is a honoric principle, we are talking about something that
even upstream has abandoned on the way to 5.2 already. the work here
would be to 100% on us. it seems a not easy to fix problem, so might
take us a few days and these few days are surely better invested in
getting 5.2 in shape instead ... :)
