Testing image #275 on Google Nexus 5
Hi all,
Not sure if this may help you guys. I finally had the time to sit down and
test Ubuntu Touch on my Nexus 5.
Firstly , I installed it on Nexus 5 using MultiRom app . Here are the
issues which I encountered.
1. On boot, the device shows wrong time and date 7:18 AM , April 28,
1970 when the actual time is 1:44AM, April 4, 2014 - sets to the right time
only after you lock the screen and unlock it after a few mins.
2. wrong battery info - 74% in Android 37% in Ubuntu
3. Battery drains very fast - 30% reduction in 1 hour
4. wifi & 3G wrong signal 4 bars in Android - 1 bar in Ubuntu
5. wrong location detection in weather app on 3G- detects a location
1000 kms away
6. pressing cancel on weather app changes the font colour to white
after that, nothing much can be done
7. when phone is on a slight tilt(uneven surface e.g. bed) keyboard
opens up in landscape mode even if app is in portrait
8. sound is low and jittery
9. incoming call can be received but gets disconnected after some time
10. no more than 1 call can be heard - have to restart for getting the
audio back
11. special codes not accepted like checking balance on Vodafone via
*111# from the keypad
12. timezone is set to UTC , does not update automatically via network
13. file manager cannot open pictures
14. opening clock app - says retrieving current location- but never
finishes
15. selecting city in clock does not switch to its corresponding timezone
16. Bluetooth not recognized
17. Music app plays mp3s but sound is very jittery
18. scrolling is not smooth - suffers greatly when 8+ apps are open
