Message #07674
Landing team 15.04.14
Hey,
Three images since yesterday and again a promoted one to devel! #296
brings you some new features like multi-call support, click app updates
available in system-settings and new Mir bug fix release!
#295:
- we moved back cgroup management to cgmanager. This time, no hang up
reboot thanks to the excellent pre-testing work!
- system-settings multiple bug fixes, one of them getting back click
updates support in the updates UI! We'll be able to drop
click-update-manager in next images in favor of this new UI.
- oxide crashers fixes
- a lot of rebuilds of packages to get the new API in qtdeclarative
symbols for the i386 emulators
#296:
- it's possible now to start a new call while already on a call
- new Mir 0.1.8 update (bug fixes) + cherry pick bug fix for Unity8
crashing on stop
- other updates inherited from desktop
- even more rebuilds of packages to get the new API in qtdeclarative
symbols for the i386 emulators
#297:
- reenablement of push notifications. It's back for good this time!
Automated tests results (still running on latest one) showed the same
flaky tests as usual (dialer-app) and a come back from a previous flaky
test on gallery app. You will find them listed below.
Dogfooding happened on #296 and got a +1 from the QA team. No regression
found from previous promoted image. We thus did promote #296! Some
lighter dogfooding happens on #297 (which contains only push
notifications as the unique change).
* Important bugs to fix before trusty release:
** Music/Calendar bug (Qt event loop stopping when the device is
suspend) (Kevin)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1292306
-> It wasn't released with latest Mir. Another Mir landing with the fix
is under testing and progress (in a silo).
** Greeter won't unlock when app raised by url dispatcher is already
focused (Kevin)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1307489, which is
as well https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dialer-app/+bug/1267624
-> The main use case is clicking on a sms notification while having the
screen locked, and you will get the keyboard shown, but still locked on
the greeter. Same when answering a call with a locked screen.
A fix is in a silo and under QA validation. Let's hope to get it for
next image!
We discussed performance today and added (regression from new scopes):
** New scopes performance needs to be improved (Kevin for unity8 and
Thomas for unity-scopes-shell)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1297197
This explains most of the chopiness and some temporary lagginess we have
seen in the Unity 8 UI past weeks with the new scopes (frames skipped
while scrolling scopes and when switching between scopes).
-> A branch is proposed and under review iterations for unity8. Thomas'
team is going to look at the scope-shell side of it.
* Issues not impacting on the user experience or whitelisted by QA as
not a promotion blocker:
** qtubuntu crash causing the dialer app to crash (only during tests)
(Bill)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtubuntu/+bug/1297900
-> Boiko has a branch for it which needs to be released once ready.
** Clock flaky test (Julien)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-clock-app/+bug/1307458
-> would be nice for QA to have a look at it, seems upstream won't be
able to fix it soon.
** New dialer-app flaky test (Julien, Bill)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/dialer-app/+bug/1303681
-> The flaky test is back the same way.
* Adding an already mentioned flaky test:
** Autopilot test flakyness in test_add_photo (Julien, Bill)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/gallery-app/+bug/1304950
-> opened last week and stroke back on #297.
* confirmed to be fixed:
** Multiple crashes on images since the scope transition (Kevin)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1256360
-> Mir landed and multiple tests showed the crasher to be gone! One less
on the list!
Let's hope to get even more good news tomorrow. Meanwhile, enjoy #296! ;)
