For those who want to listen to music with nice studio cans, this
is a feature instead of a bug. Many small devices don't put out
enough power to properly drive large cans. However, if
pulseaudio is actually running an un-requested compressor filter
(or similar) to distort the audio, that might be considered a
bug. However, along those lines it'd be nice to have an optional
combination equalizer/compressor which could boost output beyond
100% without clipping. Bass boost, for example.
