just a follow up, Mir team is working these 2 bugs with highest priority.
we're updating in the bugs, but updates below for convenience

** Can't swipe the keyboard away anymore

- not completely convinced where the problem lies, may or may not be a mir
bug...still digging

** Can't display toolbar after dismissing it

- definitely a mir bug, fix on the way
