Webapps Team Status Update
*
Status Update - WebApps Team - July 3rd
*
*Since the Malta Sprint, the team is focused mostly on RTM runtime
support, with a bit of work still on the desktop and in advance of phase
for the HTML5 SDK.*
*
Webapps Stack
- Oxide getting a lot of attention, with new extensions added for:
Download support, Devtools (debugging) and Webdriver (test automation).
- Current focus on directing all media manager calls to Media Hub. 1st
end-to-end calls made, but there is still a lot more APIs to connect
(stream control, cookie passing, etc.
- Youtube works on the phone with full-sceen video rendering (SW
decoding though)
- Desktop updates for the Firefox and Chrome extension, to adjust to the
removal of the NPAPI. Users can again add new webapps when detected from
a browser session.
- Current desktop focus into getting the Flash plugin to work with
Oxide, let Webapps display Flash content
- Phone webapps updates: ability to switch between accounts in Gmail,
sharing content on Facebook via the webapp, UA tweaks for the calendar,
updates to support the latest changes with the account management screen
of Google Apps.
- Phone webapps focus now on a new combined Google Apps app, to simplify
auth and switching between Gmail, Calendar & Docs.
Online Accounts
- Polish and bugs fixing around transitions from system settings and the
webapps authentication screens
- Work on exposing an API to import/export authentication tokens from
within Oxide; this is a requirement for using online accounts with webapps
- Misc fixes and updates to the OA API: app-access revocation support,
HTML5 API update
HTML5 SDK
- Updates to the UITK to support the new top header (daker!)
- Cordova 3.5 update (see ppa:cordova-ubuntu/ppa
<https://launchpad.net/%7Ecordova-ubuntu/+archive/ppa>)fdsfds
- New FacebookConnect plugin, Dialog plugin and other non-core plugins
