Re: Landing team 05.08.14

Test results for image 175 (mako):

The most obvious thing people will notice is that the welcome
tutorial dies after one swipe. It also starts on every boot,
since it never finishes and never writes the file to say it ran.

Still happening.

Fixed.

Also appears to be fixed, though the bug doesn't say it is.

Still happening.

I noticed a few improvements:

  - Wi-fi works again, as of image 174.

  - The main scope view is now shown as a task in the task
switcher. Neat. (no, it can't be swiped away to kill it)

  - The user can now add contacts directly from the dialer.
    Woot! :)

  - The phone ringer now plays in the headset while plugged in.

  - Sound no longer transfers from headset to onboard speaker
    after a call.

  - Indicator menus no longer cancel the current scope's activity
/ context, so changing the volume no longer stops the music
    in scope preview mode.

  - During a call, there's a nifty new call status indicator in
the top bar, replacing the usual indicator area.

  - App store app previews now have more info displayed, like the
date and changes of the latest version.

  - Alarms can play for more than a minute now, and more than one
    alarm can play at once.

Other issues I saw...

  - In settings, the "Notifications" label is displayed with the
"s" on a line by itself. Un-hyphenated word wrap at an
    unfortunate place.

  - My cell data doesn't work by default; I think it's the wrong
    APN settings.

  - I can't get location/gps to work.

  - The music app still doesn't get parameters correctly from the
scope which launched it, so it always thinks no songs were
selected for playback. Can't launch songs from the music
    scope.

  - The music app still can't seek in songs; it skips to the next
    song.

  - Settings -> accounts -> back crashes, leaves the screen black
for a while, then leaves the settings app unresponsive for a
while. Kind of like the old version of this bug, but worse.

  - The camera still makes black images with the flash on.

  - The camera's post-shot preview pic still doesn't match what
    it actually saved.

  - "Show" from an alarm dialog still doesn't go to the actual
alarm defined in the clock app, it merely starts the clock
    app in its default view.
