Landing team: TRAINCON-0 mode now active!
Hello everyone!
Bad news. Due to the current test situation and image quality - and with
the RTM really close, we have decided to announce a forceful TRAINCON-0
mode for now.
We still had about one day till the normal TRAINCON-0, but as the test
situation did not improve almost at all and new issues were appearing,
we decided to stop the line for now so that everyone can concentrate on
fixing the blockers. It would be great to get a promoted image before
the RTM branching that is planned this week. We do not want to risk more
blockers appearing before the current ones are resolved.
What does TRAINCON-0 mean?
- Basically it means that landings will be slowed down. Any non-isolated
bugfixes or features need a QA sign-off.
What would we require for upstreams to do during TRAINCON-0?
- We would ask all upstream developers to concentrate together on
eliminating the current blockers, as mentioned on our landing e-mail.
The landing team (alpha) issue tracker has an up-to-date list of current
blockers [1]
Let's please work together on those!
Besides the blockers listed in [1], we also try fixing the apparmor
issues during smoketesting that are causing many denials (and whole
test-suites failing). It seems to be related to strange clock behavior -
please contact Jamie Strandboge and Paul Larson for more information. We
might fill in a bug for that now that we have triaged the bug properly.
We are still thinking of new rules for TRAINCON-0 that could improve how
we deal with such a crisis, but those are still only propositions [2].
For now what we would ask is that everyone tries looking through the
blocker list and work together on getting those resolved.
Thank you and apologies for the incontinences.
