Landing team 13.08.14

Hello everyone,

We still have blockers on our current images which we are trying to fix
before promoting. Work is ongoing, upstreams and QA are working hard and
so far things are proceeding smoothly - so we might see a new devel
image still this week. Other good news: the yesterday's Mir 0.6.0
landing didn't seem to introduce any new issues, good work! One older
issue seems to be a bit more reproducible now, but it might not be
related to the Mir landing at all. And not a blocker anyway.

As far as smoketesting results go Brendan now has a real fix for the
camera-app tests constantly failing (the bug caused by the location
permission pop-up dialog). So the test situation for this suite should
get resolved pretty soon as well. We might start pushing for a green
image soon again..!

Any bigger landings happening this week? There is a Ubuntu UI Toolkit
silo being prepared which might land a bit later.

On the RTM front: we will be switching our CI Train backend and frontend
to support the new distribution tomorrow during UTC evening. An
announcement about the changes that happened will follow once that happens.

For now, the list:

(See the issues dashboard for always up-to-date blocker status)

* Blocking issues:

** PIN-locked phone becomes unresponsive after simultaneous alarms
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1354406
 -> In progress - source of bug seems to be in unity-notifications

** image 185 --wipe causes unity 8 not to show up on first boot (after
welcome wizard)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1355726
 => Merge requests present

** Youtube launched with https and cannot play insecure content
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1355818
 -> Fixed in the store, next image will have the scope by default

* Known issues:

** Video freezes and doesn't recover randomly
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314998
 -> Seems to be an old issue, but recently became much more easily
reproducible

** mtp-server crash when transferring music on #15
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1317263
 -> Very old bug but gains on importance in the upcoming days

** U-S-S sluggish after some hours, high CPU
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1337200
 -> This issue needs help debugging and identifying

** In about Phone if you select OS hit back and select something else
that goes to a new page it crashes the app
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1349326

** Scrolling is extremely laggy as of emulator image >=165
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1351048

* Issues not impacting user experience:

** unity8 crashed with SIGSEGV in
mir::frontend::ClientBufferTracker::client_has()
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1339610
[Time counter 26/7]
[WHITELISTED]
 -> This problem has caused some rare test failures in smoketesting,
rarely reproducible it seems. Is this still valid? Might be related to
one of our blockers.

** Ubuntu Touch devices sometimes come up with hwclock set to 1970
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1353591
 -> Critical issue, but we're working-around it temporarily to get a
promotion

** indicator-network crashing during dialer-app and default tests on
smoketesting
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1355130
[Time counter 2/7]

Best regards,
