Some problems with vivid on a Nexus 4
Hi
I'm running vivid on my Nexus 4 and it has been upgraded from a older
version of devel via the Scopes interface and aptitude (I have to mount
root rw so that essential tools such as mosh can be installed).
Mostly everything works fine, the only application I use on a daily
basis is the terminal and the reboot version is great.
However quite often Scopes won't run, it just results in a spinning disk
and when it does start it has a blank grey interface and I have to swipe
up and then go to apps to get the expected interface.
Another issue I have is the battery draining very fast, the graph goes
down at almost 45 degrees sometimes, with the load average around 3
(top shows 2 CPU cores) even when I have no apps open and the screen is
off and the phone is in airplane mode. The permanent high cpu usage
appears to be mostly due to this these processes:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
592 root 20 0 2556 1216 960 R 42.5 0.1 3:40.29 cgmanager
9694 phablet 20 0 23248 1752 1448 S 38.2 0.1 3:14.30 cgroup-reap-all
645 root 20 0 2520 1108 920 R 25.9 0.1 2:12.08 cgproxy
10018 phablet 20 0 463772 92736 43404 S 22.7 4.9 1:59.96 unity8
I also quite often find that the whole user interface lock up and I have
to ssh into the phone and restart lightdm to get a usable interface
back.
I wasn't sure how best to raise the above issue, I'm happy to open or
post comments to tickets or chat in irc if needs be.
All the best
Chris
