Re: [Bug 1249387] hook Oxide into Ubuntu platform API for media-hub

Thanks David - looking forward to this being fixed. Is there a timeframe?

There is a regression in Oxide, which recent builds have not been linked

Your flag is correct, and the version of webapp-container shipping in vivid
is correct as well. You can verify that by grepping for OXIDE in the
/proc/<pid>/environ of the oxide-sandbox process associated with your
webapp instance.

I posted a question on this bug 2 weeks ago, and have not received a
response, so am posting to the mailing list. (original bug here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/oxide/+bug/1249387 ) Does anyone know what's
happened with this bug? My understanding was that it the media-hub was
usable with oxide 1.7, however I'm not able to get any sound out of it. The branch seems to be up to 1.9 now, though I'm not sure which images this has
been released for. ( https://launchpad.net/oxide/ )

Using vivid (both for development framework and testing device) I'm able
to build the webapp, however can't get any sound from it. I've tried adding --enable-media-hub-audio to the desktop file, and no luck - the app builds
with no errors, starts with no errors, but doesn't give me any sound. As
this is a webapp for a radio station this is mildly concerning - I'm
holding off updating this until I get it working.

Two questions:

   1. Has oxide 1.7 landed in vivid-rc-proposed images (or any images),
and if so, how do I check/confirm it's there?
   2. Is there something I need to be doing in order to enable this, that
   so far I've missed?

Thanks,

Mitchell

The webapp-container part is landing. You need to add this flag to your

--enable-media-hub-audio

However, we still need to wait for the next release of Oxide (1.7) to have
the integration enabled again. This is planned for next week, in the
6-weeks cadence of the Oxide releases.

Hi, am running vivid-proposed on my nexus 7 - any idea if this fix has
hit the images yet? I notice my ABC Radio webapp still falls silent when
focus is lost, or the screen turns off. Do I need to update the webapp-
container I'm using in order to see this change?

Thanks.
