Sorry it didn't read to me as if no buttons are working at all, I
thought it was only about some gestures not working.
You can mostly rule out the missing hardware support, because BQ sells
mobile phones with Android where users expect this to work (more or
less). There is a spec page for this feature in Android[1]. CTIA[2]
should be the default by now on every device.
What is missing on the Android spec page is a complete listing of the
button gestures, I couldn't find any better reference than the one from
Audeze for Apple devices[3].
I would suggest posting a new topic to the list asking for the state of
headset button implementation and gestures.
I don't have a phone that is currently running Ubuntu so I cannot test
or help out any further.
