Below are my answers.
do you have an Internet connection when Wi-Fi is disconnected and
there is cellular coverage?
No.
What does the connection icon indicate?

I wanted to mention that this problem only occurs on Ubuntu 15.10
(r.229 and r.230), on Ubuntu 15.04 (r.20) everything works as expected
- I'm using multirom.
