I agree wholeheartedly and would support this myself. I use the Android app
landscape heavily and this would be a major step towards Touch being viable
for me as a daily driver.

Still, one developer? That goes against the spirit of open source, if you
ask me. I would say we should leave it open to anyone who wants to
participate and they get a portion of the proceeds proportional to their
degree of contribution (measured in percent of code in the final product).
Perhaps Canonical could divvy out the money like they do with community
donations.

Also, what if we don't make our goal with Kickstarter? There must be a more
appropriate crowdfunding solution.
