Judging by your comments on that bug report, it sounds like you were
running into the following bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mediascanner2/+bug/1436110
That fix was made two months ago, so should be in the latest images though.
In general, if you discover a problem it is best to report a new bug.
The one you are commenting on has been marked fix released for a year,
so is easy to miss. Even if it sounds vaguely similar you'll get much
better visibility with a new bug report for things like this.
