Missing perl modules for syncevolution with image-based updates

Hi all,

with the previous OTA-5 syncevolution stopped
working properly on my bq E4.5. It looks like
syncevolution needs the perl module Base64
which seem to be removed with OTA-5 [1].
Things did not really change with OTA-6.

So I looked into the latest image [2] and yes
/usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/perl/5.20.2/MIME/Base64.pm
is missing (even though these files are part
of ubuntu's original perl package). At the
same time syncevolution comes preinstalled
with that image (which I really appreciate).

So here are my questions:

1.) Why does ubuntu touch come with a stripped
down perl that does not support all applications
that come with it preinstalled. Is this a bug?

2.) Is there a "recommended" way to fix the
problem on my phone? Or is the only way to take
the original perl package and copy the missing
files to the root-fs after making it rw.

Cheers,
Marc
