Hi,

A similar thing happen in MX4, but with a blinking screen.
I opened a bug here: 
https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1512100

I experimented it with and without a protective shield installed on the 
screen.
In this case it's a software problem.
