Message #21522
Why UT is not ready
Great work until now - but short summary of what are show stoppers for the
users. This are all reported bugs.
1. SMS does not count 160 chars. Intransparent and expensive. Or counting
with wc in terminal app - really?
2. Gallery in real usage has some 100 or 1000 photos - starting is about
some minutes. Really? Scrolling is horrible. No one of you would use this,
you never tested it with more then 3 pics it seems.
3. uNav on bike works but only updates gps all 10s.
4. Dekko normally cannot write in landscape mode. For longer textes I
always use landscape. Notice app, too.
5. No multiprotokoll messenger and no libertine with pidgin as workaround
on BQ phones.
6. No notification for new mails.
7. No data encryption - should be activated since day 1 because Ubuntu on
pc has all binarys ready for this little change. But maybe the other points
are more important for more users.
Think on it when you say it is ready for all. It is not really. It's only
for developers or enthusiasts but really not for ALL. Will some of this
points change this year? Or until the end of the second year on the market
three months later?
The marketing should really slow down its messages of readyness. I think
you need at least 50% more developers to not sleep against Android. With
this not acceptable problems for a too long period then in some months.
Please take a new developer to speed this biggest problems up.
Greetings, Benno-007
