Title:
Firefox should use SSL enabled search bar
Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: firefox
Ubuntu should consider downstream patching Firefox to use an SSL
enabled search bar. This would mean changing the standard entries, for
which there are SSL alternatives, such as Wikipedia, Amazon, etc..
Right now all default query engines, and likely subsequent browsing
prompted through the query's results, are unsafe.
