Did your kid manage  this on his own?  Or did you support  him? Did you
make  sure  the  school didn't sideline your  kid?  Who had the time or
resources to help  Jay? Who advocated  for  him?

Unless you  were working two jobs or  ill or uncaring and weren't there
for your  kid,   the comparison makes no sense.

I'm not saying Jay has  no responsibility in his life  - many people  go
through his childhood or worse and come out  better.  But I see zero
evidence that he  had an organized childhood.
