[Bug 1361276] Re: Build/run app locally, if host = target
When developing an app one can choose between various targets. Targets
can be either added when the application is created or at any time later
on in the "Projects" mode with the "Add Kit" button.
Most of the Kits represent chroot based Kits. In fact all the ubuntu-
sdk-[.*] kits live in chroot. Only the "Desktop" target is the native
one. When the Desktop target is selected the application will be built
and run on the very same environment as the Ubuntu SDK was started.
Using the Desktop target requires the necessary Qt packages, tools and
a complete compiler/linker toolchain present on the hos environment.

Title:
Build/run app locally, if host = target
Status in qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
When developing an app that targets the same release as the
development host, it would speed things up if building and running the
app happened locally, rather than in a chroot and emulator. This
would also allow us to provide VM images of Ubuntu with the SDK
installed that didn't add additional layers of virtualization inside
it.
