[Bug 1503043] Re: package qtdeclarative5-xmllistmodel-plugin:amd64 5.2.1-3ubuntu15.1 failed to install/upgrade: package is in a very bad inconsistent state; you should reinstall it before attempting configuration

This would seem to be a package management problem, or something gone
wrong in the system otherwise.

Like it suggests, I'd reinstall the offending package and reinstall it.
If you're using Unity 7 as your desktop (or GNOME 3, or XFCE, but not
KDE or Unity 8), it is relatively safe to do the following on the
command line:

sudo apt purge qtdeclarative5-xmllistmodel-plugin

Take a note of the packages it removes, so you can re-install if
necessary. For example, you might want to:

sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop unity8

** Package changed: qtdeclarative-opensource-src (Ubuntu) => apt (Ubuntu)
