[Bug 1385654] Re: MainView's OrientationHelper: page isn't being clipped properly to accomodate the header
We no longer clip the MainView to make space for the header (the header
is now an overlay that is fully opaque). Also, to disable the header
completely in UITK 1.3, you can set the Page.header property to Item { }
(which is invisible, but setting Page.header disables the deprecated
application header. See https://developer.ubuntu.com/en/blog/2016/02/24
/pageheader-tutorial/ )

Title:
MainView's OrientationHelper: page isn't being clipped properly to
accomodate the header
Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
I've been trying to create a simple pong game using QML and I ended up
with something working on desktop and in portrait mode on my tablet.
But when I rotate the screen, the top part of the "game board" is
hidden and overflows the screen.
I've asked for help here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/541214/how-
can-i-detect-screen-rotation-with-qml and on IRC #ubuntu-app-devel
According to DanChapman: "It looks like that could be a bug in the
MainView's OrientationHelper. It looks as though the page isn't being
clipped properly to accomodate the header so the rectangle ends up
overlaying it. You should file a bug for it (if there isn't one
already)"
Here are some pictures quickly taken with a potato:

Since I am unable to find an explanation for this, I am filling this
report as I also think it is a bug.
