Message #06998
[Bug 1613248] [NEW] Text selection handles are too small
Public bug reported:
In a text box (eg. a message in the messaging app), I find it impossible
to move the edges of a selection because the handles are too small. When
I do manage to grab a handle, I cannot see where I am placing it because
the handle's hotspot isn't far enough away from the text so my finger
covers the area I need to see. If I move my finger down, so does the
selection.
In practice, this means that I can never use the handles, and end up
having to delete and retype anything I want to edit. This also applies
to just moving the text caret, which is again difficult because I cannot
see where I am going.
Sorry I took this long to report this. I had assumed that this bug was
obvious enough that a fix would arrive without reporting it. Maybe this
is hardware specific? I'm using a bq Aquaris 4.5 on OTA-12.
This may be a regression of bug 1407723, which describes exactly the
same problem but is marked Fix Released. Or perhaps the fix there wasn't
sufficient for me.
** Affects: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
