The qt.conf file will be removed in Ubuntu 18.04, see
https://bugs.debian.org/886437. Already fixed in bionic-proposed.

Bug description:
  This bug seems to be connected to:
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1227295

  in the above link I have found a workaround for the problem. I have created an empty file in:
  ~/.config/QtProject called qtlogging.ini and the problem is resolved.

  the problem was not present in ubuntu 17.04
