[Bug 1508504] Re: Network doesn't work
Carlos,
That's great. I will look forward to a new version of File Manager in
due course. Meanwhile, I have a workaround for access to my NAS.
As I said before, your work on this is very much appreciated. I wish I
had the technical skills to engage in development work, but I will
continue to help where I can by reporting bugs and doing all I can to
help devs to fix them.
In respect to the design decision about access to private folders, I
don't think it has been thought through enough. For instance, now I
have signed in to my own private folder and the login credentials are
saved for it, it would good if it were now shown without having to
unlock full access.

Title:
Network doesn't work
Status in Ubuntu File Manager App:
New
Bug description:
Using recently updated File Manager on Aquarius E4.5 which now
includes 'Network' when 'Places' selected.
What happens:
1. Select 'Places'
2. Select 'Network' - shows smb:// (1 file)
3. Select WORKGROUP - shows smb://WORKGROUP (2 files) - listed as
ee
nasbox
3 Select 'nasbox' - shows smb://nasbox (0 files)
Devices are listed by 'description', not their device/server names, which are
BRIGHTBOX2 (my router)
DYLAN (my NAS)
What is expected:
1. selecting 'nasbox' (aka DYLAN) should show 8 folders.
(by comparison with what is shown in Nautilus)
