This seems like a serious problem here. I keep trying to add feeds that
all default to HTTPS, and keep wondering why the app just fails to find
them, despite being given the exact URL.

Can we atleast get a bug registered upstream against Google Feed API?

  If I try to add a new channel that uses HTTPS protocol  the app fails.
