I use a open source C++ lib to convert xml to json,  I traced that all
crashes came from this lib.

I am considering update this lib to latest version or find another one
to replace it.

  Shorts App crashes when fetching updates if "Use Google Search" is
  disabled

Status in Ubuntu Shorts App:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Shorts 0.2.418 on Bq Aq 4.5, OTA-9.

  When the "Use Google Search" option is switched off, the app crashes
  when I hit the reload button. For a few seconds, the update dialog
  shows, but then the app just terminates completely.
