Re: [Calculator] Numpad layout design
Hi Dalius,
I tried out the latest calculator code for the first time. Here are
some of my observations on your current implementation,
* I like the automatic calculation of results.
* It is not intuitive for a user to press "C" to perform a new
calculation. I personally would look to press the "=" sign to finish
the current calculation and start a new one. This might a small
issue with the current implementation. I would suggest that you
replace the "C" with the "=" button and everything should be fine then.
* When looking at the design proposal and your current implementation,
I feel that the operations such as "+,-,*,/" are better exposed by
the orange coloured buttons in the design proposal. It would be nice
if you changed the colours of the operator buttons in your current
implementation.
* As for the ± button, you are right. It is not necessary to show that
for a simple calculator.
Hope this was helpful to you.
Kind regards,
Nekhelesh

Hi,
Here is what design team proposes for simple calculator:

Design team's proposal has two unnecessary buttons:
= - as I don't see any reason why calculations can't be automatic
± - it is simple calculator why we need negative numbers at all?
Any other opinions?

Dalius
