Re: Call for testing: Qt Creator 3.1.1

Hi,

Thanks David for the heads up. I added the PPA on my Trusty box and did
some testing. I noticed some issues that I have listed below.

I am not sure when it starts but for me running and installing on device is
broken. Previously I had trouble running CMake projects on the device,
however after the PPA, even pure QML+JS applications do not run/install on
the device and emulator. I have reported the bug at [1].

I feel that this bug is rather critical since it completely negates the
benefits of having an emulator. At the moment, the only way of testing the
app on the device is by using click-buddy. As mentioned in the bug report,
we need manual tests to be done before new releases of
qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu or other respective packages are done to avoid
failure points like this since it impedes development.

I have also noticed that CMake projects do not have code syntax
highlighting nor code syntax auto-completion. I have reported that at [2].

DanChapman (developer of Dekko email client and Trojita) and I tried
getting the new clock app up and running on the device. However after
adding the PPA, we are unable to even getting it running on the desktop :/.
Everytime we try to run on the desktop, we get the error *Could not run:
Could not open desktop file for reading*. I would appreciate if you could
take a look at seeing what we might be doing wrong there. We have a branch
at
https://code.launchpad.net/~jpakkane/ubuntu-clock-app/utopiccmake/+merge/225694
for this. DanChapman mentioned that before the PPA, that branch could be
made to run on the device and desktop after changing the desktop file name
to com.ubuntu.clock.desktop. Bur now, that doesn't work either.
