HiBased on the fact that ubuntu-tour should be helpful and easy-to-understand for total beginners as well as not boring for little-experienced users I propose another layer of informations. Look at my (not very nice) mockup. :-)
For example GNOME: Wherefrom a person should know that this is the name of a piece of software? If it is software, why can't i find a starter for "GNOME" in the applications menu. (by the way I don't mind any important reason why the user should know that Ubuntu works with GNOME, but that is another topic)
Short inconspicuous and clickable links in the text can solve that problem. Each user can decide what he want to know without getting lost in the ubuntu-tour space, as it would happen if we use <a href="about-ubuntu/en/8_the-bottom-panel">Foo</a>
