Re: Issues with the webhosting

I, as the Team Leader of the Website think that maybe Phill's Webhosting
will work super! I have seen it in action and he has a lot of features on
his server. I think that We should get it all set up and have me and Alex
working as sort of 'admins' to the hosting. It would be really nice if Phill
could offer us the hosting we need for http://www.ubuntutour.org

Hi,

The site is loading ok for me, in Central America. Is the tour stable enough
to continue with translations? I mean, given that's goin to hit beta soon,
please confirm..

Moises

5 minutes ago I couldn't see the website, from the Netherlands. But if I
now load the page, it's just works. So the website is very unstable from
here.

For the last few weeks, the website has been acting up. It's been up and
down sporadically, often available for one part of the globe but not
another. I've been told the issue has been fixed, but it was down in some
places yesterday.

If it continues for the next week or so, I'm going to have to move hosts.
I'm not very concerned about my stuff being accessible, but the tour is
going into beta soon, and the new site is nearing completion. Having it
online is pretty important.

I've been searching around for a potential new host. It's been a bit
frustrating, but I've found three candidates (here
<http://www.hostnine.com/web-hosting/> here
<http://www.webhostinghub.com/web-hosting-features.html> and here
<http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml> ). Personally, I host one domain,
and need a fair bit of space for isos. This makes it a little annoying,
because most hosts don't let you host multiple domains. I'd be happy to host
the tour's site alongside my stuff, especially if I don't have to pay extra
for it.

Is there anything out of the ordinary we should have? (This question is
mostly for Micheal.) Ssh?

Anyways, that's what happening. It would be great if anyone could check the
site occasionally and let me know on IRC if it's up or down, since it's
almost always up for my area, oddly.

-Alex
