I've filed a bug about the lack of specificity in the error message (my 
fault, although it's still better than the tracebacks we used to get :-) 
and put up a fix for inclusion in the Launchpad 3.1.10 release.  See bug

Meanwhile, someone else will have to look up the templates since I'm 
unavailable the coming week.
