I am happy to hear that you are willing to help Ubuntu Translations.

As a first step you can subscribe to Ubuntu Translations Bugs
notifications and take a look at the current state of translations bugs,
especially the new bugs:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations

If you have time, please also join us on #ubuntu-translators so that we
can get in touch.

We are still building the Ubuntu Translations project and defining its
procedures.
