[Bug 1019172] Re: Clumsy Finnish localization of post-install failure message
This looks like a combination of
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/quantal/+source/dpkg/+pots/dpkg/fi/232/+translate
and
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/quantal/+source/dpkg/+pots/dpkg/fi/724/+translate
(in Precise
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/dpkg/+pots/dpkg/fi/504/+translate
)
The latter isn't translated, therefore the given error message was only
partly translated. We're open for suggestions on how to translate 724.

Title:
Clumsy Finnish localization of post-install failure message
Status in Ubuntu Translations:
Triaged
Status in “dpkg” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Quoting bug #976781 correspondence:
>> aliprosessi installed post-installation script palautti virhetilakoodin 255
> apologies for the really stupid half-translated error message you got.
I'm not sure what should be done about this. A more fluent
translation would be something like "aliprosessin asentama asennuksen
viimeistelyskripti" (off the top of my head) but if "post-installation
script" is not a translatable string (haven't checked) it may require
changes to the source.
I started to look at the Finnish dpkg translations, but there are over
300 untranslated messages to cope with, and I'm not a native speaker.
I'm mainly submitting this bug report as a reminder to myself to
revisit when I have more time.
