[Bug 1092701] Re: Improperly closed tags in XML prevents Help from displaying in Norwegian bokmål
Setting to Fix Committed for Translations since translations have been
fixed in Launchpad. Invalid for Software-Center since this is a
translation issue.
Has the fix been released yet?
** Changed in: ubuntu-translations
Status: New => Fix Committed
** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu)
Status: Confirmed => Invalid

Title:
Improperly closed tags in XML prevents Help from displaying in
Norwegian bokmål
Status in Ubuntu Translations:
Fix Committed
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
When opening the Help
The below lines contains the problem. Remove the extra spaces and the
problem goes away and Norwegians can get their help page in the
Software Center.
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/raring/software-center/raring/view/head:/po/help/nb.po#L409
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/raring/software-center/raring/view/head:/po/help/nb.po#L498
(Easily fixed, but I am too familiar with the git/GitHub process to
figure out how to suggest the corrections directly in Launchpad.)
To prevent this from regressing in any other language, I suggest
adding a XML sanity test for the generated XML files. Such a sanity
check for validity will easily pick up on simple oversights such as
this from the translators.
The bug is present in Ubuntu 12.10 and in Raring Ringtail (the above
URLs point to the latter.) Software Center version 5.4.1.2, at least.
