Bug description:
The gutenprint source package creates, amongst others, the gutenprint-
locales binary package (http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/gutenprint-
locales).
There are several problems with this package:
* It installs source .po files in /usr/share/locale. This is wrong in the sense that only binary .mo files should be installed there, if at all. Gettext programs cannot use the source .po files to load translations.
* There is no need for the package to install translations, even if they were in compiled .mo format, since they are already stripped from the gutenprint source package, imported into Launchpad (https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/gutenprint) and then exported in language packs (as an example, language-pack-de-base installs these translations in /usr/share/locale-langpack/de/LC_MESSAGES/gutenprint.mo)
In short, it seems that there is no need for building this particular
package and having it in the repos, unless it is fixed to install .mo
translations -although they will in fact be extracted and put in the
language packs.
