I understood that, Simon, and a correction of the British 'translation'
I pointed at will most likely fix it (haven't tested, though). Someone
in <https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-en-gb> can make the correction.

Which package an issue affects is not always easy to figure out. Thanks
for reporting this issue! :)

Title:
  Date in top right of screen displays as "Sun Mar 27 2016" rather than
  "Sun 27 Mar 2016"

Bug description:
  When the UK regional format is set system-wide with day, date, month
  and year all displayed in the top right of the screen, the 'date' and
  'month' fields are displayed in the reverse order in the US style.  If
  the 'year' field is not selected, the order reverts to the correct
  style for UK.
