The Verification Application & Looking Ahead

Greetings from the Covered Bridge Festival in Ashtabula County! Ashtabula County is home to 17 covered bridges including the longest (Smolen Bridge) and the shortest bridge (a tiny one over a creek in the City of Geneva) in the US. I'm out & about between the Benetka Road Bridge and Olin's Bridge at the moment.

The Verification Application to be submitted to the LoCo Council is currently being worked on. I have an initial draft posted that can be edited and added to. You can find such here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OhioTeam/VerificationApplication2013

The guidelines we have to work within can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoCouncil/TeamVerificationGuidelines

Another team's application to contrast with our own can be seen here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/VerificationApplication2013

With all that being put forward, a couple things should be noted. First, the application is undated. That is deliberate. Until we're ready to submit it the application shall stay undated. Secondly, the application rightly notes that we don't really have any further planning/goals set since our existing ones were basically completed with Ohio Linux Fest 2013 taking place with UbuCon actually happening.

I would like to hold an IRC meeting at some point soon to talk about what we'd like to do for the balance of 2013 and looking ahead to the T cycle. Shepherding new Ubuntu Members is great but kinda limited. What else do we want to do as a community?

Right now I am seeking broad date ranges so I can set up a Doodle poll to narrow down. November 5th is a completely off-limits day as I will be serving as a Precinct Elections Officer administering the 2013 General Election and already have a precinct to serve at. Ubuntu Developer Summit kicks off on November 19th so we can consider that the hard limit for holding a meeting.

I look forward to further discussion of this.
