Re: Hi!

Roll Call! Who's all here?

Do we get to use the Kwartzlab space for meetings? Regular meetings would be OK, but I can't guarantee I can make it out regularly (especially in Winter).

I've been involved in the MUMU[1] group, for which we've been trying to set up virtual meetings (so far unsuccessfully). Perhaps we could coordinate with some other LoCos to get everyone online together...

I'd like to get into some collaborative programming projects. Not so much that I have an itch to scratch or that I want to create something, but I want to learn enough Ruby, Python and Erlang that I can read and understand the code.

Great to have another source/sink for activities! Thanx, Ralph! And Darcy!

Welcome to the Waterloo Region chapter of the Ubuntu Canada LoCo.
Thanks for signing up for the mailing list. And many thanks to Ralph
for setting this up.

I have a question: What do you want out of the LoCo? Regular meetups?
Release parties? Bug jams? Advocacy? Technical support? All of
the above? Other? Is there anything specific you want to do?

Give the wiki page on LoCos a read: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamHowto

I get the impression we have quite a bit of leeway in what we do and
the sort of organization we want to build. It's all pretty new, and
there's a lot of room to try new things.

If you're going to be at KWLUG on Monday, track me down afterwards and
we can chat a bit about what we want to do with this thing.
