Hi all: For those of you who are not yet aware of it, the user list of
the Ubuntu Forums has been breached, exposing user names, e-mail
addresses and passwords.
If you are using the same password from Ubuntu Forums on other services
(such as Launchpad or UbuntuOne) you should change those other passwords
immediately.
Launchpad and UbuntuOne services are not affected by this breach, unless
you're using the Ubuntu Forum password on those services.
Here's the announcement currently posted on
http://ubuntuforums.org/announce.html

> There has been a security breach on the Ubuntu Forums. The Canonical
> IS team is working hard as we speak to restore normal operations.

> Unfortunately the attackers have gotten every user's local username,
> password, and email address from the Ubuntu Forums database. The
> passwords are not stored in plain text. However, if you were using
> the same password as your Ubuntu Forums one on another service (such
> as email), you are strongly encouraged to change the password on the
> other service ASAP. Ubuntu One, Launchpad and other Ubuntu/Canonical
> services are NOT affected by the breach.
